class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Power Systems group encompasses a wide-spectra of engineering disciplines (such as electrical, electronic, energy, communications, control, among others) required to comply with an evolving electrical system and sector.&nbsp; Our aim is to become an international point of reference in the R&amp;D sector; with special emphasis in the field of power systems,&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">grid integration and renewable energies.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our research lines are focused on the resolution of challenges of the future power systems, allowing larger integration of renewable energy sources, energy storage, as well as power converters and electric vehicles.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our activities cover a wide range of topics within the whole power flow and value chain (from generation to&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">consumption) including:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grid integration analysis of renewable sources&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security and stability issues of both transmission and distribution networks&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Communication analysis<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grid observability and controllability and power electronic design<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Installation and interaction on the electrical grid.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, we work in the development and validation of tools and technologies, covering such diverse areas as: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Modern power systems with distributed generation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smart grids and microgrids<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electric vehicles and charging infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewable power storage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Power electronics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DC and AC technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smart grid automation and communications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cybersecurity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div
