After four years the EU’s flagship electromobility project Green eMotion has come to an successful end in February 2015. The project has defined and demonstrated a European framework that connects all electromobility stakeholders for a seamless, cost-efficient, and interoperable electromobility ecosystem.
Starting in 2011, the project developed prototypes to connect the islands of electromobility existing at the time. The projects defined an overarching ICT architecture and standards, especially for ICT interfaces, and analysed new business models for a charging infrastructure that included electric grid connexions. Within ten demo regions and two replication regions, Green eMotion demonstrated that the project findings work in real life and are also supporting the setup of an electromobility environment from the scratch. The project key results got presented at the 3rd EU Electromobility Stakeholder Forum and at the European Economic and Social Committee during a special event for public deciders and socio-economic actors.
Brussels, 25-26 February 2015.- This week the three flagship electromobility projects of the European Commission, Green eMotion, FREVUE and ZeEUS hosted the European Electromobility Stakeholder Forum in Brussels. It was the 3rd edition of this event and welcomed more than 200 European electromobility experts and representatives from industry, regional, national and European public authorities, transport agencies, utilities, research institutes and academia. With a combination of high level round tables and parallel workshops, attendees learnt about the developments of electromobility in Europe. Nine cross-cutting workshops served as a platform to share and exchange knowledge on operational, technical and policy-related aspects of electric vehicles.

El Prof. Dr. Joan Ramon Morante ha estat nomenat recentment membre del Comitè Assessor Científic Internacional de la nova plataforma de recerca internacional en energia constituïda a partir d’en EnMat (3rd International Conference on Materials for Energy) i E2C (4th European Energy Conference), per organitzar la conferència EST 2015 (Energy Science & Technology Conference and Exhibition) que tindrà lloc del 20 al 22 de maig de 2015, al centre de convencions de Karlsruhe, Alemanya.
És una opinió generalitzada que cal potenciar la industrialització del nostre país. Per això és necessari disposar d’energia segura, a un preu competitiu i que contribueixi el menys possible al canvi climàtic per l’emissió de gasos d’efecte hivernacle. Això només es pot assolir posant l’èmfasi i els recursos necessaris en la recerca en l’àmbit de l’energia i en la conversió del coneixement obtingut en tecnologia aplicable.
El Grup de il·luminació de l’Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya (IREC) és el coordinador d’un projecte europeu FP7 ICT – Call11 denominat HI-LED (Human-centric Intelligent LED engines for the take up of SSL in Europe). HI-LED, amb un pressupost aproximat de 5 milions d’euros, caminarà cap a la realització de diverses proves de concepte en il·luminació intel·ligent amb LEDs, fortament lligades a les TIC (Tecnologies de la Informació i de les Comunicacions ). HI- LED s’emmarca dins d’un conjunt d’accions suggerides en un recent Green Paper publicat per la Comissió Europea titulat “Lighting the Future: Accelerating the deployment of innovative lighting technologies”, on queda reflectit que la investigació en sistemes d’il·luminació intel·ligents es considera d’ “alt retorn” econòmic per a Europa.
L’objectiu final del projecte és la realització d’una sèrie de light engines espectralment sintonitzables amb intel·ligència integrada, de baix cost i baix consum, a través d’un consorci multidisciplinari, amb experts reconeguts internacionalment en diferents camps aliens a la il·luminació, però on aquesta adquireix un paper principal.
